How to update or manage nameservers of your domain name

Once a domain name is purchased, it needs to point to a specific nameserver in order for it to begin to propagate and communicate with your hosting servers or application. If the nameservers if not set, it uses the default nameservers of the domain provider.

These default nameservers may differ from your specific nameservers and you must check and make sure it is updated correctly.

This guide will aid you change your nameservers with ease from the G Online Sites client area.

Login to G Online Sites client area

Login to clientarea

Goto Registered Domains card

Register domain

Click the globe icon with the tooltip, “manage nameservers” next to the preferred domain you want to modify. Alternatively, you can click the settings or cog icon, and then click the nameservers tab.

Do note, nameservers change may take minutes to up to 24 to 48 hours, in rare cases, 72 hours to fully complete. You can monitor propagation using tools like https://www.dnschecker.org, https://www.whatsmydns.net, https://toolbox.googleapps.com/apps/dig/
