How to Backup and Restore WordPress website in softaculous

To back up a WordPress website using Softaculous, follow these steps:

Step 1: Log in to cPanel

  1. Log in to your cPanel account.
  2. Scroll down to the Software section.
  3. Click on Softaculous Apps Installer.

Step 2: Locate Your WordPress Installation

  1. Click on the Installations tab at the top of the Softaculous dashboard.
  2. Locate the WordPress website you want to back up.

Step 3: Create a Backup

  1. Next to your WordPress installation, click on the Backup icon (a small file icon 📂).
  2. In the backup settings, you can choose to include:
    • Full Backup (recommended)
    • Files Only (if you don’t need the database)
    • Database Only (if you only want the database)
  3. Click the Backup Installation button and wait for the process to complete.

Step 4: Download the Backup

  1. Once the backup is complete, go to Softaculous → Backups & Restore.
  2. You will see the newly created backup.
  3. Click the Download button to save it to your computer.

Step 5: Restore (if needed)

If you need to restore the backup:

  1. Go to Softaculous → Backups & Restore.
  2. Find your backup and click the Restore icon.
  3. Confirm the restoration process.
